Zenith Building, Spring Gardens

This 1970´s multi-storey office block is located in Spring Gardens at the very heart of Manchester´s commercial district.

Situated above the busy main Post Office, the building´s commercial space was the focus of our programme. The project required careful programming as the Post Office remained fully operational throughout the contract period.

The scheme, which won the ‘Un- built Commercial Project of the Year’ award at the Manchester Society of Architects Design Awards, involved the complete removal and replacement of the external envelope and the construction of a two storey glass clad roof top extension.

After removing the original cladding and extending the height by two floors, the whole building also received a complete internal fit-out and provides some of the highest spec office space in Manchester city centre.
